VERN' was awarded the ISO certificate

Handing over the ISO 9001:2000 certificate

Zagreb, September 17, 2004 – The official ceremony marked the successful realization of the Project of Quality System Establishment (PUSK) with official handing over of the ISO 9001:2000 certificate to the Entrepreneurship Business College VERN’.

PUSK was initiated at VERN' in September 2003, as a consequence of acknowledging the priority role of quality in modern-day business and business education. After 9 months, PUSK was completed by certification audit on September 30, 2004 and cooperation with an independent certification house, Cro Cert from Zagreb.

The implementation of the quality system is yet another proof of VERN’s modern market orientation  towards its users and their demands, i.e. recognized expectations. Precisely the certificate ISO 9001:2000 is the confirmation of top quality of VERN’s work, but, also, of accepting permanent obligation to introduce continuous improvements in its own quality management system - VernQual. Thereby VERN' confirms its efforts to integrate into the modern European educational environment.

The ceremony was held at the VERN's multimedia center at Tomićeva 5a, in the presence of main persons of the PUSK, the management, teaching staff and interested students and, of course, the reputable guests from the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, company Cro Cert and others.

After the introduction by PhD. Mijo Vrhovski, assistant professor and VERN's dean, Professor PhD. Mirjana Polić Bobić, assistant to the Minister of Science, Education and Sports for Higher Education  addressed the audience.

She congratulated VERN' on the success accomplished so far, by emphasizing that VERN’s success is even greater because VERN’ is already harmonized with the Bologna Declaration, which has only just started to be applied in Croatia. With honest congratulations, she gave the word to Mr.Sc. Diana Plantić, our quality manager. Diana Plantić has briefly presented the project, its development from idea to realization and what may be expected from VernQual in the future.

The Certificate ISO 9001:2000 was handed to Branko Štefanović, chairman of the Board of Governors of the VERN’ College by PhD. Seka Kugler, director of Cro Cert. Mr. Štefanović has pointed out to powerful and dynamic growth of VERN' in his 10-year history, which has in certain years in a row been higher than 100% and added that VERN' was the initiator and coordinator of the project Champions of Entrepreneurship! within the Tempus program of the European Commission.
