About the Study Program

Business Economics

Undergraduate University Study Program of Business Economics – field of International Business is conducted in cooperation with the Faculty of Economics, University of Rijeka, with the logistical support of VERN’, at VERN’s premises.

By completing the Undergraduate University Study Program of Business Economics, students will ecquire the academic title: Bachelor (bacc.) of Economics.

Upon the graduation at this study program, students will be qualified for immediate employment in the private or public companies operating in different industries as well as in government and public administration, conducting jobs in the areas of economics and business economics.

The learning outcomes expected to be achieved by students completing this undergraduate study program include:

  • competences in analysis, synthesis and problem solving in issues related to economics and business economics,
  • critical thinking,
  • possibility of self and associative learning, flexibility and adaptability,
  • organization and leadership qualities necessary for creative problem-solving and application of professional achievements in institutions and enterprises, as well as performing other highly qualified jobs in the field of economics and business economics, i.e. the development and implementation of expertise and achievement into practice.

This study program is founded on and developed in accordance to other European economic and business studies and are thus comparable to programs offered by foreign institutions of higher education. Moreover, the programs are based on international theoretical and practical experiences, keeping up, in this way, with the issues dealt at studies abroad.

Teaching is conducted in accordance with the study curricula which encompass a great number of elective courses including student internship. This enables student flexibility in shaping the study content according to their abilities and interests. In addition to regular academic contents, this study program develops students’ connectivity and understanding of global experiences and the Croatian economic practices. Special focus is given to a field of the “new economy”, information technologies and e-commerce and their implementation in a number of courses at almost all study levels.

Alongside Croatian lecturers, guest lecturers from foreign universities and well-known experts from the industry and public administration are engaged as visiting lecturers within the study program.
