Why study IT management?
Today's organizations and business ventures depend to a large extent on information flows and technologies used for information structuring and processing. The need for experts who know how to properly use the IT supported methods of management and decision-making is also becoming more pronounced in Croatia. In such circumstances the information that we receive are not structured, so additional time is required for the information filtering and processing, which is detrimental for the ability of rational and quick decision-making.
In such market conditions the companies require experts who know:
• how to deal with rapid changes in the business environment,
• how to use IT technology and modern methods of management and
• how to redesign business processes using IT and particularly the Internet.
What are the students' competences after graduation?
After they graduate, students will be competent in managing specific functional areas in the organizations of private and public sectors, managing IT functions in organizations, and for managing business operations in small and medium-sized enterprises which want to implement information technologies. During the study process they will learn how to plan information systems, how to plan the implementation of IT in e-business, how to model business technologies and optimize organisations, how to develop and measure performance plans for the organization, how to manage the quality of development of information systems, etc.
