Managing Sustainable Tourism Development
We live in a world of travel. We live in a world where they teach us to recycle. We live in a world where they teach us to safeguard what we have inherited so that the generations to come would know what a polar bear looks like, what Aurora Borealis looks like, what the Sistine Chapel looks like and what the color of the sea is.
Managing Sustainable Tourism Development is a very demanding business discipline. It is quite more than the mere «green plan» and asks for merging together the social, economic, cultural and ecological issues, with simultaneous relevance for the quality of life of the population in whole. Sustainable tourism primarily advocates for any type of tourist activity which is harmonized with the constant maintenance of protected resources of natural and cultural and/or constructed heritage.
Specialist graduate professional study of the Managing Sustainable Tourism Development is a contemporary study program with the goal to educate professionals who will know how to be a successful tourist manager who records huge number of visits of the destination which is a natural and/or cultural phenomenon, the local population prospers owing to this, and whose business at the same time protects this natural and/or cultural phenomenon and leaves it in its original form and, consequentially, succeeds in his business endeavor. The concept of the study is based on supplementing and intensifying of managerial knowledge and skills required in tourism, on the acquiring of new knowledge in the field of tourist trends and innovations, support systems in the choice of travel, design management, and the possibility to specialize in forms of tourism that are developing intensively, and the management of which has its specific features (nautical, rural, congress, eco-tourism, wellness tourism etc.).
