FREQUENCY OF OFFERING: 6th semester

PREREQUISITES:  Advanced level of English language

DESCRIPTIONT OF COURSE CONTENT: The course is aimed at students interested in involvement into the EU project management or EU affairs (What is European regional policy, the main principles; Types of European funds, areas that it covers, its functioning in practice – experiences in new Member states; Introduction to the programme cycle and programming documents; Application of project planning  tools – logframe approach; Preparation of project budget including successful and unsuccessful examples of budget; Elaboration of project proposal including tips and tricks)

OUTCOMES:  Upon attending the course the students will be able to:

  • Recognise the basics of the EU regional policy and its major goals
  • Understand the case-based evidences of the regional development
  • Understand the methodology of the EU projects
  • Understand the process of development programming in the context of EU funds (examples of programmes)
  • Acquire methodology and logic of elaboration of project proposal

TEACHING METHODOLOGIES: Theoretical and methodological background applied through group work exercises will enable gradual and systematic learning which will be completed through elaboration of projects.
