PREREQUISITES: Basic computer skills (suitable for undergraduate students of all semesters)
DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE: The prevalence of web-based software and freeware has had a democratizing effect on contemporary multimedia. This course examines these new tools in their various media applications. Students will learn to efficiently manipulate typography, photos, sound and video; following the process from initial conception to online publishing. Practical workshops and theory will be reinforced with real life viral examples. This emphasis on web presence will include a study of Online Identity Management, Social Media Optimization and its function as marketing tool. Students will have an opportunity to test their own work's ability to relate in this global context.
OUTCOMES: Students will learn how to efficiently use software for creating/editing multimedia files (graphic, audio and video files)
